SUMMARY:

Parole Officers, also known as Community Supervision Officers, play a crucial role in the criminal justice system by monitoring and supporting individuals released on parole or probation. Their primary responsibility is to help reintegrate offenders into society while ensuring compliance with the conditions of their release. Parole Officers work with individuals to reduce the risk of reoffending and promote successful community reentry.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

• Assessment and Case Planning:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of offenders’ backgrounds, risks, and needs.
  • Develop individualized case plans to address rehabilitation goals and reduce the risk of recidivism.
• Supervision and Monitoring:
  • Monitor parolees’ compliance with court-ordered conditions, including curfews, drug testing, and counseling.
  • Conduct regular home visits and office appointments to assess progress and address challenges.
• Counseling and Support:
  • Provide guidance and counseling to parolees to address issues such as substance abuse, mental health, and employment.
  • Connect individuals with appropriate community resources and support services.
• Crisis Intervention:
  • Respond to crises and emergencies involving parolees, including situations that may jeopardize public safety.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies when necessary.
• Report Writing:
